The great king Sawai Jai Singh constructed a lake that is rectangular in shape. The lake, which is split into the Upper Sagar and the Lower Sagar, controlled the area’s water table.

The ‘Sagar’ was built so that it was connected to several step wells in the area, which filled up on their own when the ‘Sagar’ was full.
